Because a simple visit can change a life. Including yours.
Loneliness is a silent crisis across the UK. Millions of older people go days without meaningful conversation. But with just an hour a week, you can help turn things around.
You don’t need qualifications. Just kindness.

Why Volunteer?
Volunteering through Care to Volunteer isn’t about grand gestures. It’s about being present. Listening. Laughing. Sharing a warm drink or a story. That human connection is powerful and deeply needed.
Whether you're a student, a professional, or newly retired, you have something to offer. Your time, your presence, your smile.
Every visit you make helps someone feel seen, heard, and valued again. That’s impact.
Volunteer at a time and place of your choosing.

How it works
We keep it simple so you can focus on what matters.
1. Apply Online
Use our short step-by-step form to tell us a bit about yourself and your availability.
2. Vetting and training
We work with trusted partners to carry out background checks. You’ll also receive basic training, so you feel confident and supported.
3. Match and meet
Based on your location, interests, and availability, we’ll match you with an older person nearby.
4. Start visiting
Once everything is in place, you can begin visiting regularly. Most volunteers give one hour a week, but you can offer more if you like.
We’ll stay in touch to support you along the way. You're never on your own
